My name is Julie Boesen. I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys and a wife of just over 11 years.
After giving birth to our first son over 10 years ago (gosh, did I just say TEN years!?!) I, like many new mothers, suffered from post-pardum depression. I found myself detached from my newborn son, distant from my husband and unable to let go of the anger which would constantly be brewing just under the surface. I was not a fun person to be around!
But the depression didn’t stop with just my attitude ~ it spilled over into all areas of my life. My work suffered, my home constantly looked like a bomb had gone off inside it and my views of my body and self image were completely negative. I was a miserable human being that NO ONE wanted to be around. I stopped caring about everything until one day I woke up and found myself on the brink of divorce.
I realized that a change MUST take place in order for me to move forward and be the mother and wife that I knew was inside. So I have started a journey. I read everything I can about being happy: from self help books, audio tapes and online blogs and websites; I soak in all the good information I can find about living everyday of my life with happiness.
One of my favorite authors, Dr. Wayne Dyer says, “When you change the way you look at things…the things you look at change.” If you only remember one thing from my blog, please remember this
So, I created this blog to document my journey and to hold myself accountable for all the world to see. I also would like to inspire YOU to take action in your own life and find YOUR blessings!
