We celebrated Easter with my in-laws today at our house and part of our celebration included Easter egg coloring.

Earlier in the week while I was at the store I saw this egg coloring kit

Wow!  This looked amazing so I immediately put this in my cart.  I was thinking, “Wow Julie…THIS year everyone is going to be blown away by my awesome new find!

So we start putting things together and found out that you get what you pay for. Or, in this case…you don’t get anything for the money you paid….nothing but gobs of laughter and joy.

Every time my husband and father-in-law tried to get one of the eggs out – it would leak all over the place!  There were so many jokes flying back and forth that the laughter was infectious!

Sometimes the most joy and laughter can come from situations where things don’t go exactly like you planned.  In this case our family will remember this Easter egg coloring for many years to come!

After coloring our Easter eggs it was time for desert. Well…everyone was so giddy from coloring eggs that my husband decided it was time to go all Samurai on our poor little lamb cake.

Normally I’m pretty reserved.  I stress over everything!  But today…today was different.  It was so free and easy.  Why?  Because today when I woke up in the morning I set my intentions on having a free and easy day full of joy and laughter.

I set my intentions this morning that today would run smoothly, the food would be perfect and that everyone would be happy.

I am learning more and more each day that you get what you focus your thoughts on whether you want it or not.

This is why I realized my past mistakes.  I would focus my thoughts on wanting not to make mistakes instead of focusing on everything going smoothly.  So I got what I focused on: food under or overcooked and frustration.

Does this face look stressed today?  I don’t think so
