9 Best Ways To Relieve Stress

There are actually various methods you can use to manage the effects of stress. The simplest way to avoid the effects of stress needless to say would be to live a well-balanced and healthy life. Listed below are the best ways to relieve stress to lower your stress naturally.

1. Eat Right – Several kinds of food produce stress. These typically are ones which require large amounts of energy to be digested and exhibit very little to no nutritional value to the body.  Sugar, fried foods, red meat, soda, spicy food, chocolate and even dairy are all examples of foods that can actually cause your body to become stressed. Why dairy? Technically milk was created by mothers to feed their baby cows. It isn’t meant for humans. So everyone has a certain level of lactose intolarance. Stop eating any of these foods for four weeks. Then, slowly re-introduce them back into your diet and monitor your stress levels.

2. Lower your caffeine consumption – This is one of the best ways to relieve stress. Caffeine might disturb your sleeping patterns, helping to make you far more anxious and restless under pressure. If you just can’t live without your morning boost, try a little exercise or Vitamin B supplements.

3. Stay away from Short-term Fixes – Smoking cigarettes, drinking and drugs are temporary remedies to relieve stress. Even so, in the long run, they merely result in hurting your body. Instead, identify what is causing your stress and devise a healthy solution to combat what is pressuring you.

4. Sleep more – Sleeping can be difficult if you are stressed out. Nonetheless, it is extremely essential in stabilizing our nervous system and particularly in dealing with stress.

5. Exercise – Exercise will assistance allow you to release endorphins which will help you feel happy and release your stress. Even just a brisk walk or game of tag with your kids outside can be some of the best ways to relieve stress.

6. Meditate – Just meditating for a few minutes a day can have a HUGE effect on your stress levels!  Meditation relaxes the minmd and boy and allows you to have consistent feelings of peace and serenity.

7. Use Aromatherapy – Smells can be used to elevate our mood and to reduce stress! Smelling scents like sandalwood, lavender or bergamont can instantly cause your mind to relax and de-stress.

8. Get Quiet – Try to keep your environment as calm and quiet as possible. Remove any unnecessary noise. Decorate your room with soothing colors like blues and greens which help calm the mind.

9. Express Yourself – Don’t hold it all in! Make sure you voice any problems or concerns you have with family and friends. Holding in your feelings not only causes you stress, but it’s like creating a ticking time-bomb just waiting to go off. Stay true to your emotions – it’s a healthy way to relieve stress and keep sicknesses away.

Now, don’t cause yourself additional stress by changing everything at once!  Just change one or two a week and watch your stress begin to melt away!

This past weekend I had the morning blahs.  I woke up in a not-so-hot mood and stayed there until I went grocery shopping.

I got to the store and saw they were selling patriotic pinwheels.  I knew my Jackson was having his first play-date today at our house so I wanted to make it special.  I bought two of these pinwheels and stuck them in my cart.  I began to roll off and noticed that the pinwheels were beginning to spin.

I could feel the little girl inside me smiling as I watched them move faster as I walked stronger. 

But this feeling didn’t just end with me…I could see it in everyone around me. 

I saw little kids giggling and pointing at the pinwheels.  I also saw adults turn into kids as they smiled as I walked by. 

But, as they smiled I felt the joy growing inside of me. 

An older gentleman passed me and smiling he asked me, “Having fun?”

I stopped for a second and looked at him smiling and said, “Isn’t life great?”

He paused for only a moment and said, “Yes…it is.”

So today I challenge you to do something crazy.  Get a pinwheel and put it in your own grocery cart and bring feelings of happiness and joy to all those who see it.  I can’t wait to hear what experiences you had with this!

Clutter Busting Challenge – At The Office

The condition of your outer-world typically represent your inner condition. 

If your insides are toxic odds are so is your environment

This week we start a new challenge.  We are moving our Clutter Busting Challenge to work – you know…the place where you spend 40 hours each week?

Whether your “office” is in a building or at home, clutter at work can hold us back from promotion, affect our relationship with our co-workers and our customers, and have a direct effect upon our weekly paychecks. 

Why? 

Because our outer condition is a visable sign to the world of how we feel about ourselves inside.  If your desk is littered with papers, old coffee cups and disorganized files (like mine is) – you definitely need this challenge!

Job #1:  Take a picture of your cluttered office space and then give it a thorough cleaning. 

1.  Organize all paperwork
2.  Get your filing neatly in order
3.  Clean your computer desktop too
4.  Wipe down any workspaces
5.  Get some bin boxes or other office organizers

 

Job #2:  Add positivity to your workspace

1.  Perhaps bring in a flower arrangement to keep on your desk
2.  Put out pictures of loved ones or a favorite vacation
3.  Hang positive messages around your workspace (if you work will let you)
4.  Change your desktop background to something pleasant
5.  Use bright and colorful pens and organizers to keep your spirits high
