One of my favorite people (Denise Austin) says, “The joy is truly in the journey”?
She is always finding joy in the journey. Discovering yourself and taking pride in your smaller achievements on the way is all part of the experience. Of course, you will find challenging times, but it’s all part of the attempt to change your life for the better. I would really encourage you to absorb as much of what you are going through as possible and to include the fundamental persons in your life in your journey also. You heard right — share the joy!
Regardless of whether you have a very big number of friends and family or perhaps a tight circle of a couple of extraordinary people, your social ties play an essential part in most facets in your life. Studies have proven that friendship not only can make your life more fun but protects your health too. Those who have good mental well being and great social relationships are usually the most joyful!
One of the ways to help keep your pals close right now is to include them in this beneficial journey you’ve undertaken. How could you reach out? Below are a few suggestions:
* Start a Blog (like this one). Start a blog about the things that you are grateful for and let every day be an opportunity to share your journey of happiness and joy with your family, close friends and new friends who you meet online.
* Set up an “workout date”. Phone a nearby buddy to reconnect and at the same time do something beneficial for your bodies. If there is a class or activity you have wished to attempt, taking the plunge with a good friend could make it seem less difficult. Or just go for a walk together with your friend rather than eating out, and use the time to get caught up. You will save money and calories!
* Make a phone date. Get caught up with a family member or friend which lives a long way away. Block out some time for it so that you will not be interrupted. Your friend or relative will certainly be delighted to hear from you — and you’ll be able to discuss the changes you are making in your life. It will be uplifting!
* Reach out. Reunite with a family member or friend who seems to have slipped away. Regardless of whether you reach out by telephone, e-mail, or letter is irrelevant; the only thing that counts is showing that you still care.
Share the joy of the journey with those that matter most in your life. You’ve got the power to inspire and uplift!
So today I challenge you to reach out to someone, anyone and share your joy!

Hi Julie! Everything that you say is so true. My favorite activity is gym time. I go to classes with a couple of old friends but have met so many new friends in the process. This has become a great social hour for me and helps me keep my head on straight!
